More Information: Reginald was the chief aircraft designer at Vickers 1917 to 1946. He designed the Vickers Vimy in 1917 which made the first non-stop flight across the Atlantic by Alcock and Brown. He also designed the Vespa which held the world altitude record in 1932 and the Wellesley which held the world long distance record in 1938. he went on to design the Viking, Valetta, Viscount and the Wellington bomber that was extensively used in World War 2. |
